Now would be a good time for a Southern Conservative to rise up from the ashes and become our next President. Just mentioned on the PA FR board - what about Haley Barbour?

That is a good choice. Maybe Barbour and Duncan in 08. Or Barbour and Pence.

(I thank the RNC for freeing me to vote my values rather then political party. It is liberating!)

Or Kay Bailey Hutchinson?
There are a lot of possibilities. It doesn't have to be Rudy or McCain, no matter how much the MSM wants that to be the race.
We just got dumped. We don't want to marry the Rebound Guy. It's time to date around a bit before we settle down in 2008.

Love Haley. Best pol during Katrina by a mile (including Brownie, Cherthoff, and Bush). He really shined amidst all the confusion and blame games. Just did his job, looked ahead, exuded confidence and work ethic. He's very articulate, knows and defends conservative policy without sounding like a wonk or a tool.
Like Prez Bush I, he also chaired the RNC. Very successfully. A southern governor who could play very well to the Red states with a good chance at Florida and Ohio.
