That's my guess as well, but I'd imagine that further research will result in improved efficiency ... how long that will take is another question entirely, though ;-)

Why not "harvest" the naturally occurring electromagnetic spectrum? Ambient Micro LLC, based at the Maui Research & Technology Center, is researching this possibility. The ambient electromagnetic spectrum is waiting for a device to convert it into electrical energy to power low power devices that now use up tons of batteries to be thrown away.
