Guilty, repressed, catholics with psychological, sexual damage who don't want to act out their psychosis (homosexuality). They become priests and don't find a traditional psychiatrist who can help them with this PSYCHOLOGICAL problem, they remain homosexual.

Follow up to my last post, re: pedophelia.

It's becoming more apparent that this behavior is "hard-wired", meaning a problem with one of the brain functions, much like serial killers who have frontal lobe damage/ill-working frontal lobes which leaves them with no conscience, remorse, etc.

You CAN have these things hard wired in your brain and not act on them also, although it is very difficult, and if you have a bad upbringing, experiences, etc, these flaws will rise to the surface.

It's a case of nature/nurture, science/nurture if you will.

Homosexualty falls into the category of early childhood, psychological issues, perhaps a predisposition, but the "gay gene" has not been found, although I can literally say I've seen no less than a dozen newscast, articles saying the "gay gene" has been found.

Homosexuality is a psychological/abnormal issue, some people are depressed/bipolar/obsessive compulsive/self destructive, etc.,etc.

Some people are homosexual, that's why they try and introduce teaching, normalizing this abnormal behavior at an early, confused, psychological state and it should NOT be taught in schools as "normal".

You can take a kid and make him a criminal, you can take a kid and make him a homosexual.

A large percentage of homosexual men were abused as children.

I'm sure I'll get some grief for this, but a friend of mine was one of the top shrinks in the USA (RIP), he treated homosexuals, necropheliacs, etc.

Wow, did he have some stories!

Pedophiles have a huge recidivism rate; twe now know they're the criminal category most resistant to rehabilitation.

Yet these sicktwisted personalities are frequently "kid-magnets," "Pied Pipers," experts at patiently gaining the trust of vulnerable boys and charming the socks off of parents. Thus their employers (churches of MANY denominations, youth groups, etc.) tried the psychological treatment route in the 60's and 70's because they really thought that (1) therapy could help them, and (b) the criminal prosecution route might re-traumatize their victims, who (they thought) should be offered counseling as well.

It was a disastrously bad policy, but very much in line with the "therapeutic society" movement which was very strong 30-40 years ago.

Why was the Catholic Church targeted for the lion's share of the legal and media prosecution in all this ugliess? Three reasons:

personnel records: Most organizations don't keep complete and permanently archived records of their employees. The Catholic Church keeps correspondance between Bishops, priests, therapists, mrdical and treatment records, etc. going back many decades. The Ultimate paper trail.
seizable assets: If a public school teacher abuses a student, do you think you could sue for all the assets of the school? Of the school district? Of all the school districts the state? That's what happens when the Catholic Church get sued and has to sell off schools, parishes, seminaries in order to pay the judgment. It's the biggest bonanza for lawyers since Henry VIII looted the monasteries of England.
the sleaze factor: some of the principal actors, like The Boston Globe, like nothing better than to drag down one of the few organizations on earth which has a global reach and a coherent sexual ethic. Would they do this to the Unitarians? Is there a reason they went after the Catholic Church and the Boy Scouts of America?
