Just assume something and run with it. While you're at it, assume a whole lot more. Why not?

Sorry, in the case of breast feeding, not in the particular case of this mother and this airline.
In the case of breast feeding, that which is natural is defacto beautiful and good.
That's what I meant. Now you just have to start reading what I mean, not what I type....:)

There once was a lady named Emily,
Who publicly breast fed her family,
When ordered to hide her nipple,
She turned to shyster named Boepple,
Who threatened to shake her own chest brave-ly.

"A flight attendant tried to hand her a blanket and told her to cover up, Gillette said. She declined, telling the flight attendant she had a legal right to breast-feed her baby."
If she was so "discreet" then she wouldn't have been asked to "cover up". Refusing to "cover up" tells me she was exposing herself and an embarrassment. Glad she was kicked off. Next passengers will be wanting oral sex because they got the urge after a few cocktails.

At the same time, the simplest thing to do would have simply been to take the blanket. She chose to make a pissing contest out of it.

I agree, that is a tad old.

And hire a lawyer!

It's a tad absurd to be breast feeding a 22-month-old daughter. That daughter is nearly TWO YEARS OLD!
There's something wrong with this woman!

I suspect the flight attendant was a man.... I'll go you one further and make the supposition that the flight attendant was male...perhaps overly so...such as Trevor Ayliss.

That's fair. I find that the 'natural' argument to be a fairly shallow one, and when you raised it earlier I wanted to know exactly what you mean.
Frankly, I still have no idea what your process is to distinguish between a good natural thing and a bad one.

Given my history on this topic, it might be surprising that I was inclined to be sympathetic to Mom.
Until I found out the nurser in question is this close to being two years old.
And is named River.
So much for that. ;)

So the burden is on her? No way. The simplest thing to do would have been to leave her alone and let the kid nurse.

Gillette said she was seated in the second-to-last row, next to the window, when she began to breast-feed her daughter. Breast-feeding helps babies with the altitude changes through takeoff and landings, Gillette said. She said she was being discreet -- her husband was seated between her and the aisle -- and no part of her breast was showing.
Gillette said that's when a flight attendant approached her, trying to hand her a blanket and directing her to cover up. Gillette said she told the attendant she was exercising her legal right to breast-feed, declining the blanket. That's when Gillette alleges the attendant told her, "You are offending me," and told her to cover up her daughter's head with the blanket. From here.Yep. People all over the plane were screaming.

You assumed the flight attendant was a man and ran with it.

I think it was a stupid thing to do. I might even fight the airline for the additional travel expenses incurred for my family.
But a Human Rights Commission complaint?
I got served with a Civil Rights Complaint yesterday for my business. I refused to hire an applicant who happened to be black.
Next thing I know I am being forced to fill out ten pages of questions defending my decision. (BTW, since we started our business, we have hired 17 whites, 11 blacks, 1 Asian and one "other.")
So today, I am a little sensitive to people whining to the government everytime they don't get their way.

Angry bitter feminists and lots of insecure men make nsty comments about breast feeding. I've had them made about me, while fully covered nursing a two week old baby. In a doctor's office.
People seem to believe that they have a right to make unsolicited comments to women who are nursing. Just like they seem to think that they have the right to make inappropriate and offensive comments to mothers with more than two children.

My husband gave our oldest daughter tomato juice on an airplane once. I suspect everyone on the flight wished she had been breastfeeding!
So would it have been better or worse, in this particular situation, for Mr. TC to have gone ahead and given TCette an actual Bloody Mary?
'Cause I know that works well for me.
