Since it appears that there is NOT going to be a TRUE conservative to step up to the plate of POTUS in '08, we better be darn sure that we put ENORMOUS pressure on the RNC to put up some hard conservatives in Senate and Congressional races. We are going to need a tough, hard EXTEMELY conservative Congress to keep either Rudy, McLame, Romney or (God forbid!) Hitlery in check.

I agree 100% that Hillary must suffer a smashing devastating defeat in 2008. But I still think that Romney will be the best Republican canidate in the primaries. I like Tancredo but it doesn't look like he would be able to build a national support base large enough to come even close to the likely GOP finalists. I noticed your Barbour and Steele ticket idea. I know very little about Haley Barbour other than he has good conservative and American principles. Living in Maryland, I have had the opportunity to hear Michael Steele speak many times. Although Steele lost to the extremely dull and far lefty Ben Cardin, Steele did manage to win one quarter of the African American vote. That's very impressive for any Republican and Conservative. If Steele does happen to be a running mate for someone in 2008, I can see him winning a lot of African American votes in the South, which could make the difference in a close election.
