Anyone care argue whether or not the Iraqi police are ready to stand on their own? Hmmmmm?

Well, if they kidnapped the people to begin with, the answer to your question is: NO!

Apparently militia-loyal policemen abducted them, and loyal policemen freed them and arrested 5 policemen involved.

Sounds like a little clean-up of the police. A good step, yet far more has to be done.

They were seized by at least 20 gunmen who POSED
as interior ministry police to seal off the street
and gain entry to the higher education ministry.
