I thought this could have been Steele's. What a pity.
It should've been Steele's, for sure.
Was it Bush's decision to appoint a milquetoast? If so, sad to say, but our president should seriously consider stepping down if he cares so little about the Republican party, and turning power over to someone who does care. (If not Bush's decision, then whose?)
I'm sick. Conservatives are circling the drain.
I would have preferred Steele myself.
Steele was probably unwilling be a neocon lackey. Martinez will be anybody's anything if he can grab more power. Oh, well, it looks like I've cast my last Republicrat vote.
I agree. I wanted Michael Steele to get the job.
"I thought this could have been Steele's. What a pity."
Steele said he wanted the job. He would've refreshed the whole party and conservative base.
The Martinez choice is irresponsible on so many levels, especially since he expressed regret about trying to help Terri Schiavo's family in reaction to poll numbers. We don't need another leader who calculates based on polls of uninformed and unprincipled people.
Business as usual I guess. Total bummer.
