At #37 ProtectOurFreedom wrote: I actually saw this condensation cloud form briefly on a Blue Angels F/A 18 during the San Francisco Fleet Week air show last month. One of the jets was coming in over the Golden Gate bridge and the cloud formed -- and was gone in a half second or less. I had no idea the jets were that close to transonic speeds. It was incredible to see.

Did vapor cloud on the Blue Angels' F-18 look like these photos:

I hope this aircraft makes no claims to be "stealthy". From the picture, it seems to have more protuberances sticking out all over it that, on radar, it must light it up like a Christmas tree.

I think I'd need a change of shorts after being that close to a fly-by!

If it works don't fix it! What a fine piece of military hardware.

Yeah, that's what SirKit just said. They don't have to break the sound barrier for it to happen.

We've seen one squadron of the Blue Angels several times at their base in Pensacola. Their practices on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings are open to the public, and there are viewing stands set up. They are awesome to watch!

Where is the picture of the B2 bomber inverted fly by ?

I received the photo in an email. What was written was: This is an actual fly-by during deployment of the Nuclear Aircraft Carrier USS Stennis. The pilot was grounded for 30 days, but he likes the picture and thinks it was worth it. Yikes!

the compressed air

Visible vapor forms depending on dewpoint when the pressure drops. This is a partial vacuum.

There was a photoshopped bomber flying inverted by an aircraft carrier.

It was funny.

It may not have been a B2.

The pilot was grounded for 30 days, but he likes the picture and thinks it was worth it.

Urban legend. Captain Dale "Snort" Snodgrass was not grounded and the carrier was the USS America CV-66, not the Stennis.
