Exactly and if we want to lose it will be because we go so far right in the choice that he/she is unacceptable to the middle of either party.
We may be forced to settle at the top of the ticket as well, it would be nice to dial up Tommy Franks and Norman Schwarzkopf and say "come on down" but as much as we need war time generals at a time of war they are both probably unelectable.
