A little Pelosi humor for the week:
My Fellow Americans: Fear not about Speaker-elect Nancy Pelosi
By John Lillpop
Saturday, November 11, 2006
Now that Nancy Pelosi has shattered the gender barrier, glass ceiling, and incredulity index all in one fell swoop, ordinary Americans are starting to worry that she may be just a tad too liberal to be second in the succession line for the U.S. presidency.
After all, Comrade Nancy does hail from San Franciscothe only American city that once tried to join the former USSR, but was rejected because Moscow found folks here too far to the left.
Rest assured fellow citizens, Speaker-elect Pelosi poses no threat to the America that we all know and love. At least not yet, that is.
For the purpose of calming the minds and stomachs of those fearing the worse once Nancy Pelosi is crowned to take over, several common myths and exaggerations concerning San Francisco liberalism must be debunked.
To wit, contrary to popular belief:
-It is NOT a felony to vote Republican in San Francisco, although it is a misdemeanor to register with the knowing intent of voting for a Republican at a future date.
-A special permit is NOT required to fly Old Glory--except on Cinco de Mayo and Fidel Castros birthday.
-Speaking English is NOT a hate crime, except at fast-food restaurants, car washes, emergency rooms, and when speaking to Hispanics obviously here illegally.
-Displaying the logo of the United States Army, Navy, Air Force, or Marines does NOT violate city ordinances, unless one does so with an arrogant, America First, G.W. Bush-type of attitude.
-Attending a Christian church does NOT automatically subject one to higher property taxes: There is an appeals process available.
-Law enforcement job applicants are NOT required to prove that they are transvestite, gay, handicapped or a racial minority to qualify.
-Refusing to smoke marijuana when ordered to by an uniformed police officer is NOT a felony, except for anyone foolish enough to sport a Bush-Cheney bumper sticker.
-Working at Wal-Mart is NOT against city law, provided one can prove he or she is an illegal alien from Mexico.
-Abortions are NOT available on those fabulous cable cars, but may be arranged at most self-serve gas stations and progressive piano bars.
-Young Middle Eastern males who speak Arabic are NOT a protected minority until they have first been arrested and charged with a terrorist act(s).
-Being a straight, white, employed Christian male does NOT require one to notify the police before moving into a new neighborhood, or to be listed on a government web site.
-Securing a drivers license does NOT automatically enroll one as a dues-paying member of the ACLU, and
-Convicted sex offenders moving into San Francisco are NOT automatically registered to vote as Democrats: They have 30 days in which to join the party and register.
So while liberalism is a severe mental disorder that will significantly impact Nancy Pelosis judgment, the good news is--heck, there is no good news!
Run for your lives!
John Lillpop is a recovering liberal, "clean and sober" since 1992 when last he voted for a Democrat. Pray for John: He lives in the San Francisco Bay Area, where people like Nancy Pelosi are considered reasonable!. He can be reached at: Letters@canadafreepress.com

You are right. I wonder if we did a one on one campaign to educate our friends and family who are at least minimally open to an alternative to the libs.
This Russert love fest is so disgusting my doggie is threatening to puke if I don't turn it off!
I don't see the media worried about another watchdog, since there are several well established already.
Please check my suggestion in post #41 re: FR headlines which append legit headlines to include: " RUSSERT LIES". or "Brian Williams LIES". The goal in this case puts LIES in the results of a google search for that legit story.
Please add "one neighbor" and "one friend" to your list. All of us know people who do not follow politics as closely as we do and each of these people need to hear the truth as much as the ones you listed.
Nothing personal against Michael Steele ..........but as a Bushie, I am not feeling good either.
It 's the President who put him on spotlight during convention. It 's the President who sent him to Vatican as a member of US delegation.
When NAACP & other dems attacked Condi Rice & the President, Steele's voice was absent. When he was asked if he is a Bush Republican, he reply was the media-wanted one. And when he was told about the talk of him for GOP chairman - he said he will "consider".
I don't believe that is true. I think it was contingent on the election whether Rummy stayed or left. GWB obviously trusts Rumsfeld.
Bush told as close to the truth as he could.
Once the Dems won both majorities, Rumsfeld's effectiveness evaporated. Gates was waiting in the wings. Reality sucks.
I wonder how long it's going to take for McCain to realize just how disliked he is with the base?
mcinsane has no chance of winning the primaries... none. fun to discuss... but no chance in he**!

I agree, the media had to be worth 10 points. I will enjoy making their lives less pleasant.
I would say the South Carolina primary in '08.
Here's the DBM contact list I did some time ago. I'm sure there are others. I'm going to post mine now in the interests of time (I don't want to let anyone else beat me to it... but that's a type of competitiveness we should encourage) but I will be going back and reverifying each email address and web page. If I find any of them are out of date I'll update them.
I volunteer to keep this list up to date and post it on the Sunday thread each week. I'll also make sure that the contact links for the individual shows are up to date on my preview thread in case we get in the habit of contacting them preemptively about some subject.
Any shows or individuals I've missed please freepmail me or, better yet, post them on the thread and ping me to get it included in the list.
May I also suggest that we get in the habit of pulling and posting the transcripts from the shows that make them available? I don't know if posting them in the Sunday thread or setting up a thread for each one on its own with a link from here is better. When I posted that transcript of J F'n sKerry from FNS a few weeks ago it was a very long post (I included my comments in the transcript) and I'm not sure that was the most effective way to present it. I'm leaning towards the separate threads notion. That lends itself to posting the straight transcript then separate comments and should make it easier for everyone to participate rather than making it appear to be a one man show. I also think we might ask for volunteers each week to take on one show each, maybe on a rotating basis, kind of like we do with the awards. That way it's not a big deal for any individual and we get broader perspectives.
I'm open to whatever, but I agree that we need to take this on and do as many things as we can think of, check to see what works and keep doing that and try other things in place of those that don't work.
"This is a flatout payoff to the labor unions as their contracts are, probably all, pegged to the minimum wage."
And Pelosi is proven a hypocrite once again. She's all for minimum wage and all for unions (and taken a boat load of money from them); however, she doesn't use union labor at her winery or restaurants:
UNITED FARM WORKERS has been informed that Nancy Pelosi does not use union labor at her vineyard

As some of you may know, big union supporter Nancy Pelosi does not use union labor on her vineyard in Napa, CA. FRONT PAGE MAG ARTICLE
A short time ago, I had a phone conversation with Marc Grossman of the United Farm Workers. Grossman is the principal spokesman and communications director for the UFW. UNITED FARM WORKERS
Grossman seemed quite surprised and claimed to be unaware that Pelosi refuses to use union labor and that she sells her expensive grapes to non-union wineries. He is going to look into the matter.
I am really hoping that those non-union workers in her string of Piata restaurants and going to get energized. The union may need a phone call.
Do the right thing, Madame Speaker.

It wasn't just the Foley matter that lost the election for us
It was the PR campaign of sounding and looking Conservative that the Dems ran on
Their problem now is being able to live up to that new look they are trying to perceive
How much longer will the hags from NOW and NARL and the anti-americans from A.S.W.E.R. keep their traps shut for the Democrats??
Face it folks .. the Dems out smarted us
They sat back and let our side rip Republicans apart
Indeed it was and I agree with you that it was a crying shame. Add to it that Haggard thing and hey, I know he wasn't part of the campaign but that guy was a homo and this info got released at the most opportune moment.
Then we have Bob Ney and how long has this guy been on the take and no one in congress knew about it? Oh, and Cunningham had a fine "menu" of legislative items for sale.
Please don't tell me the Dems are much worse. I know they are. But the Dems are so much better at opposition research than the Pubs and by me, it's almost as if the pubbies sat back and figured that so long as the Dems were doing it, they could too. A literal "good old boys" club it became. Abramoff....hey, the pubs need to clean house first, THEN go after the corrupt Dems.
Maybe now that they're a minority party they will. We can hope.
