personally I think if the kid wants to drop out at 14 they ought to let them, parental consent ofcourse. plus maybe a provision for the smart ones to go to college.

Having been a teacher for 19 years, I know that some kids would benefit more from working than from spending another year in a classroom. Instead of changing compulsory attendance to 18, Lynch and his education cronies ought to focus instead on work-study arrangements.
