That's California. If Arnold's approach to politics was the right way, CA Republican turnout should have been HIGHER, shouldn't it?
No it isn't. The FairOpinion account is simply making things up to bolster support for a liberal.
"What we saw and felt is that this is not the year you get a bunch of Republicans holding hands on the stage saying, vote for us, we're Republicans, we're a team. Part of Gov. Schwarzenegger's appeal is that he's not part of that team."Pretty inspiring to get Republicans to the polls, huh? /s
GOP turnout was low in CA?
I guess McClintock, Prop 85, and Prop 90 failed to fire up the base. (Prop 85 was about parental notification of minor abortions and Prop 90 was about eminent domain. They both lost.)
This year was horrible for GOP throughout the nation. Gov. Arnold and Steve Poizner were lucky that they won.
1994 was a bad year for Dems. That years Dems only won two statewide offices in CA.
I am disappointed that Gov Arnold did not campaign too hard for McClintock. But, I am not sure McClintock would have won with Arnold's vigorous support.
Many, who voted for Arnold, obviously didn't vote for McClintock. They probably considered Tom to be too "conservative".
