Hagel expects an OK on immigration bill
Sen. Chuck Hagel predicted Wednesday that the new Congress will pass a comprehensive immigration overhaul bill in the next session. The Nebraska Republican had strongly criticized his fellow GOP lawmakers in September for failing to update immigration law. He said then that it would cost them in the midterm elections.
There you go again. What is your problem. I never called you an OBL...I said, "you're starting to sound like the open border minority".
And you are. And no, I'm not happy about the republican losses. Why would anyone with a brain be? You are still injecting your opinions regardless of what I say.
It appears you would rather fight your allies than your enemies. Why? THAT is why the republicans lost. Keep it up, there will be NOTHING LEFT for you to fight about!
you started it by attacking Santorum.
Waaaaa!! Mommy, he attacked me!!!
For the love of GAWD....I posted Santorums votes on immigration...that is an attack??
All you did was omit Santorum's most important anti-amnesty vote on S2611.
Hmmm.... just looked at some of your posts. You also attacked Curt Weldon, of all people, one of the bravest conservative congressmen of our time.
So, you're not a conservative but one of those permanent malcontents that makes our cause of immigration law enforcement and border security look bad.
That, of course, is just my opinion.
"" Did the national GOP deliberately withhold support from these candidates because of their immigration stance? What happened? ""
I've wonder the same thing myself, LE. Case in point is JD Heyword who was asked *if he didn't like brown people *, by Rove, due to his stance on Security First on our borders.
Also Allen may have lost due to the lying media and their campaign to go after him for a non-issue for weeks. Allen lost by such a small margin. Darn.
The GOP spent millions to keep Chaffee, but how much help did they give to Allen and Weldon??? We lost a good man when we lost Weldon too. Most Americans, when poled are against illegal immigration. Just doesn't make sense what happened Tuesday. Sigh. Sniff.
Concerning making illegal's felons:
Do you recall hearing that the WH insisted that was part of the House bill. I sure do, but not sure if it was true or not.
Hi, Pep!
Actually, I heard from an Arizonan who says the state GOP definitely withheld support from JD.
The Allen race was indeed painful. All it takes is one 'macaca' and they're off and running; what a shame. I happened to watch his concession speech during my lunch break last Thursday. He kept his dignity and did what no Dem would ever do.
Weldon was our Able Danger man too; how convenient that he is now gone, eh?
Re the White House rumor, seems I heard that too, but it was never substantiated.
So instead you voted for the rich insurance lawyer (6.2 million net worth) who supports democrats like gore etc down the line.
How did humble old Ben make his money? It had to have been as a lawyer since he went straight from governor to the senate.
Ricketts was as qualified as Ben was when he ran, maybe more since he wasn't already buried up to his ears in politics like Ben.
And who also supported the president's tax cuts and the war in Iraq. Nelson is about as much a Democrat as Hagel is a Republican.
And I didn't say WHO I voted for ...
