By setting up a thread to bash Savage, one gets the impression that they actually believe Savage tilted the election. They are angry and want to blame somebody.
Savage is an easy target for them, because they cannot understand that a lot of policy decisions caused a portion of the base to drop off. No need to re-hash all the policy decisions. We all know what they are.

However, if you lose a portion of the base on this policy decision, and a portion of the base on that policy decision, eeventually there will be a cumlative effect.

It was was the cumlative effect that did us in.

It's like some of these clowns don't understand you only get 2 choices.

Some of these clowns? A disturbing number of FReepers are scandalized at the very idea! In the past few days, I've seen such inane comments as:

"Voting for the lesser of two evils is just stupid."

"I've been voting Republican for more than 30 years to 'make things better' and what did it get me?"

and ...

"Personally, I'd like to vote for something other than Bad or Worse."

My answer to that was, well, personlly, I'd like to eat a whole bag of miniature Almond Joys every day and get something other than fat and dumpy. But no, I have to either choose only one Almond Joy a day, or none. Bad or Worse, that's often the choice life gives you, and always has. Children sulk when they're faced with the reality of it. Grown-ups deal.

Too bad more Conservatives and Republicans didn't grasp the concept on Nov. 7, 2006.

Well that is a college football reference.

The Ohio State coach is Jim Tressel. He is known for wearing a sweatervest and bright white tennis shoes on the sidelines during most games.

So his nickname has become The Sweatervest :)

You are clueless as to what really lost this election. It had ZILCH to do with Rumsfeld. Only Bush haters, Democrats, and Terrorists hate Rumsfeld. Says a lot about your post.

"By stating completely opposite things on different days, he may be using the internal conflict of listeners to wake them up to the fact that they are passively accepting what they hear about an issue rather than thinking for themselves."

That's kind of how I see it. Although he reminds you too often about it, he does seem intelligent, educated, and able to live with the ambiguities of life and politics. Everything is not always so black and white.

You're exactly right. Those that you mentioned would have taken that show of weakness and exploited it for more division.

Ah, sports. Thanks. I should probably stick to religion and politics. :)

Again, a most entertaining battle you've put up here. Cheers.

I'm curious. Do you believe when those murderous thugs killed and dragged those contractors thru the streets of Fallugh we should have used extreme force in Fallugh?

Remember the marines were ready and up to the challenge, but someone stood them down.

Do you believe we should have dis-armed Al Mookie Sadr and his Madir army when we had the chance?

Go to FR Home Page
On left side under Forums click Bloggers & Personal
You are now in the FR Bloggers & Personal section.
Top right corner find Post and click it.
Here is the 'posting a thread' page
and you'll notice at the top that it is Bloggers and Personal.

You could probably get away with posting in the General Interest Chat section as well.

Just no more election predictions though, eh?

Question wasn't posed to me, but -- OH YEAH. Well, actually I think we should have killed him.

Thanks a lot, Michael, for sitting on your hands and doing nothing when it counted most to help stop illegal immigration

Um, when were the repubs going to do something about illegals?? They only had some 12 years.

"we don't blame foxnews, or the GOP or the actual candidates, ITS ALL SAVAGE'S FAULT! /sarc"

Typical Savage "logic." As I said earlier, the issue is not whether Savage single-handedly changed the outcome of the election, but which direction he was pushing. He was pushing in the stupid direction, and it prevailed.

Hey! Savage is a very smart and well educated fellow! Didn't you know that? Haven't you been listening? He spends a lot of his air time telling you that, doesn't he? Reality check: Anybody can be abrupt and abusive, but Savage has combined those with stupidity, and thereby, become the pre-eminent clown on radio.

That is why nobody listens to him any more. He will be happy broad casting in Spanish in his own Nancy Pelosi home town.

"Thanks a lot, Savage."

Savage, Liddy and probably many more I've never heard of. Turning off voters over single issues and convincing them not to vote or casting protest votes.

"Do you rellay believe that Savage had the power and influence to affect the election?"

In close races, yes of course he does. He does have a large audience, unfortunately. Do you realize that the difference between the Dems or the Repubs controlling the Senate was just a few thousand votes?

Yeah, he's the only one who talks about himself.

All the other talkers are selfless angels, doing it for the 'team'.
