Exactly. But it doesn't even have to amount to protest, IMO.
Enough with the finger-pointing and loser-talk. The same crap was said after Ford lost to Carter in '76. The handwringers here should take a look back at party decisions that got us where we are.
This election was lost a long time ago, not in 2006. Bush was never a Reagan conservative, and "we" bought him because he said "Jesus" on TV. He's basically just like his dad sans the wimp factor. The Congress abandoned "The Contract" (as Pence has eloquently said).
For the record I voted a straight party ticket. That's easy this year for me...I'm in Texas.
It's a little like a guy coming home from the track and bitching at his wife for not having a job.

Yep. It was very hard to get behind the party, so I opted for the 'person'. I could never bring myself to vote for a 'Hilary,Spitzer or Massa, etc.' so I looked at who I felt would be the best person to represent the GOP in the future.
And I will admit I didn't pull the lever for all of them, but I also didn't pull the lever for any Dem either.

HEY! I resemble that remark!
hehe. Just kidding.
