Eh, whatever. The long and short of it was that they didn't run. They expected to win, didn't campaign for a victory, and the other side put forward something to the voters. If they were out to 'fire Republicans' then so many races wouldn't have been close at all.

Like Rush said, we don't have to create a new message we just have to get back to the old one.

Actually the long and short of it is that continued resolve and honest talk about things being long and tough are no substitute for outright victory, and the American people will accept nothing less. And no, they really don't know or care about the historical consequences or the alternatives. If the US military fires shots in anger, they are expected to win outright and all guns to be put away on all sides, before a full electoral cycle has past.

Which isn't up to us unilaterally, but that won't stop the people from pretending and acting as though it is.

What did they put foward ? Hate Bush , that's what . They have NO plan for ANYTHING , ZERO ! They will spend the next 2 years ( and taxpayers money ) punishing Bush and tearing apart anything and everything he ever touched. This is REVENGE TIME . Meanwhile the real problems will be, at best ,ignored.
