I don't understand this overreaction to the dems new "power" by the media. Sure they will control the committees and wreak all sorts of havoc that we can appreciate. Not making light of it. But George Bush is still President and the dems have very slight majorities. Look at the limited things the Republicans got through and they controlled all 3 branches with a greater majority in the Congress. The dems can only do so much with those slim majorities if our side decides to fight.
To: plain talk
"I don't understand this overreaction to the dems new "power" by the media. "
The Democrat Media complex CREATES REALITY THROUGH PERCEPTION.
Most power in Washington is perception power.
If the Dems had only 8 seat House gain, and 1 net Senate seat ... today, we'd be doing the RYMB high 5s.
Since this result is what the lib-Dem-MSM wanted and engineered they will do all they can to embrace, celebrate and amplify it.
"The dems can only do so much with those slim majorities if our side decides to fight."
And that indeed is the next battle, to 'define the mandate'.
The media wants a liberal mandate defined.
