President Jalal Talabani said Thursday that he had been assured by Democrat congressional leaders during a recent visit to Washington that they had no plans for a quick withdrawal of U.S. forces.

Sounds like the same thing they (dims) blasted the Republicans for and used against them to win the election. Can you say *two-faced*?

That's what they told South Vietnam, too.

I hope it does not come down to that.

I wonder if the Iraqi leader is familiar with the story of Pinocchio. Well, if not, he will be soon...

If that were true, then the number of Democrats in the country would be shrinking so to speak.

Iraqi president says Democrats told him they will not pull out quickly

They will, however, have the decency to offer Iraq a reacharound.

Oh, and guess what, Iraq? The Dems won't call you tomorrow, either, and you'll keep getting their message machine.

“One of them (a Democrat leader) told me that any early withdrawal will be a catastrophe for the United States and the world,” Talabani, speaking from his northern hometown of Sulaimaniyah, told the Dubai-based Al-Jazeera satellite broadcaster.

But did the democRATs fly to Bahgdad in an SR-71 on the eve of the election to convince Talibani to support a democRAT takeover.

I guess the new Democrat majority figures that the country doesn't have a President and they're the supreme commanders of everything. IMO, the new Republican minority can play the same dirty games the creeps played for the past six years. Turn about is fair play as they say. It's payback time in the good ole cesspool of Congress. That's assuming the GOP can find their manhood so to speak. I know that's questionable when it comes to McCain and company.

"We will not pull out too quickly. And that's exactly the same thing I told my wife, Morgan Fairchild. Yeah, that's the ticket!"

Let's see, the Dems initiate all their plans.

1. They split the country into three parts - Biden
2. They pull out ASAP to Okinawa - Murtha
3. They encourage the locals to get more involved.
3a. Syria, Jordan and Saudi Arabia move to help the Sunnis.
3b. Iran moves in to help the Shites.
3c. Turkey moves in to crush the Kurds.
4. Blame Bush!!!

Of course they're not going to pull out quickly. They're going to redeploy rapidly

Does Realtor.com list property for sale in Okinawa? Betcha there won't be a housing slowdown over there!

They're already saying they will pull back to the bases, and let the Iraqis do the work. Like bill clinton, who bombed civilian targets in Yugoslavia from 20,000 feet, causing many innocent deaths, they will not want to risk casualties. But there's no way to do the job without some casualties. So either they will huddle on the bases, an empty symbol of staying there, or they will be pulled out.

Maybe all it will make to force them out will be a Kobar Towers incident, which we will likely get if we leave the terrorists free to run around the country basically unopposed.

I wonder if Kerry ever thinks about all those millions who stood by us who died because of people like him.

That's what I've been saying, the Dems lie and placate their constituency to get votes. U.S. foreign policy will not dramatically change under the Democrats, they will rope-a-dope and talk about a different "strategy", and the MSM will spin the war differently to help out the Dems PR campaign, but really, nothing will substantially change from what the Republicans have been doing.

Not to sound totally cynical, but sometimes it looks like the only thing that really changes is that the money just switches from one side of the aisle to the other.
