Dobbs: A big 'hallelujah' for American voters
CNN ^ | November 9, 2006 | Lou Dobbs

Posted on 11/09/2006 1:38:43 PM PST by SuperSonic

NEW YORK (CNN) -- Hallelujah, brothers and sisters. I'm not even sure what "hallelujah" means, but the word just feels right after witnessing what is at the very least an awakening of the power of the people. I'm hopeful that November 7 was also a declaration that middle-class Americans won't be taken for granted by either political party.

Dobbs is not clueless. The Reagan Democrats want four things - minimum wage increase, review of trade agreements and how they impact US jobs, review of corporate abuse of H-1B worker policy and stop illegal immigration. For 12 years the GOP told the Reagan blue collar Democrats that free trade and globalism is a fact of life, adapt or die. Well the Dems did something funny in 2006. They fielded candidates in blue collar GOP districts who will raise minimum wage and review trade agreements. Voters are like consumers, they will go to the vendor who will meet some of their desires over the vendor who offers none. So what will the GOP give to the Reagan Democrats to get them back in 2008????? The GOP is already coming off the wrong foot when GWB the leader of the GOP promised to work with Pelosi to grant illegal immigrants anmesty thru guest the worker program. I guess the GOP leaders are either stubborn or stupid.

One, he admits his ignorance, and two, seems to be proud of said ignorance, when thirty seconds on Google would have yielded the information

I understand where Lou Dobbs is coming from, but as other people have succinctly noted: The damage that the DemocRATs will due is a far greater evil than the message you proclaim the voters have sent.

Message to you Lou: It is not Hallaluya, it is "Oh my GOD, we really blew it!".

Guess what Lou, everything you hate is back on the table with this bunch in control: higher taxes, amnesty for illegals, and a stab in the back to our men and women in the armed services. Oh and by the way, our choices aren't going to much better in two years.

Glad it pleases you.

And the borders will be left wide open so their vote will be completely swamped by that of assorted Third Worlders of multiple languages, religions, etc

I'm pretty sure that's how they got in this time. Who really checks voter ID?

Also, there are large muslim populations that voted for democrats.

The Democrats won nothing, US Citizens did not vote the democrats in in the numbers we think, it was illegals and domestic muslims.

The interesting question is what will the new Dems do with Pelosi, when she shoves them in the back?

We just might have the makings of a new political party here, that could forever marginalize the kooky left.

Election Day was middle-class America's declaration of independence from a Republican-led administration and Congress that for six years has been telling working men and women and their families in this country to shut up, listen up and go to hell.

This portion of the article was particularly insightful. Don't you think so too?

Really. I mean how many times did they run that "Broken Gorvernment" propaganda hit piece before the election? I swear, everytime I flipped channels, I saw that headline. Was it a miniseries?

One of the reasons I stopped listening to Laura Ingraham in the morning was her always talking up Lou Dobbs regarding his immigration and business stance. She even would have him on and play his clips. I like Laura, but it just got so old. I have long suspected that this was just him playing partisan politics.
