Charlie Rangel opens his mouth...and mocks the South: (hat tip: reader CRB)
Its not just committees our influence within the House Democratic caucus will grow enormously, Mr. Rangel said in an interview.
To that end, he sketched out an expansive federal agenda: Teaming up with Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg on gun control, passing new tax incentives for urban job programs, and redirecting federal money to New York in return for the outsize tax collections that the federal government makes here.
Mississippi gets more than their fair share back in federal money, but who the hell wants to live in Mississippi? Mr. Rangel said.
Yes...it's still open.
But, it's under different management now.
Shorty McWilliams passed away, and his son-in-law took over.
He didn't do very well, so it was sold.
Sela Ward brought in a lot of investors, and it now seems to be doing the business it once did.
I can't tell you first hand, though, as I haven't dined there since Shorty died.
Why in the world are you going to Meridian?
It's not exactly a tourist destination. ;o)
I have friends in Meridian. We visit back and forth and my daughter knows them too --- we met them three years ago while they were vacationing at the resort my daughter manages on Grand Cayman Island. My daughter and her children will arrive here late on the fourteenth for a two week visit.
Meridian is a destination and is Cleveland, and our Cleveland/Shelby friends are meeting us at Doe's.'
That's wonderful!
I know you are very excited about their visit.
I hope y'all have a wonderful time together.
It's great that you can meet friends all over the state.
Have a great time at Doe's.
The only folks I've ever heard describe Meridian as
a "destination" are Navy personnel. ;o)
Thank you. I'm starting to get excited about their visit and I am thrilled the trees still have leaves and some are gorgeous colors. When she bought her house here last year, all the trees were naked. Much prettier in spring, summer and fall.
"Much prettier in spring, summer and fall."
That is SO true!
I surely do miss it.
She bought a house in Vicksburg?
Yippeee for YOU!
When will she move there?
They arrive on the 14th?
If you aren't ready yet, you need to get busy!
That's just around the corner!
She bought the house catty-corner across the street when she was here last year. :)
Thank you!
I'm glad you think so. ;o)
"The kids LOVE the carousels!!"
So do my grands, even the BIG grand.
We take them there, and then to get
snow cones, every summer.
You must be absolutely THRILLED!
And, I am thrilled for you.
You must miss them terribly.
I'm glad they will be so close to you.
"I know that sounds familiar to you. :)"
LOL!
Just a tad...;o)
I am very happy for all of you.
I have to get now.
The laundry is calling.
I pretend not to hear.
But, that never works. ;o)
Nice pictures. Although I see you still have a problem with liberals waiting for their free handouts!
Weidmann's (circa 1870) 210 22nd Avenue, Meridian, MS 39303, 601-581-5770, A long-time, local favorite for delicious fine meals. Menu offers a wide variety of favorites and specialty desserts such as grilled free-range chicken breast, crispy fried oysters, grilled sesame crusted tuna, and chocolate cake with honeyed peanut butter filling.
Sounds delightful!!!
That sounds very different, and FUN.
I'll have to remember to look it up
when/if I'm in that neck of the woods.
Just thinking of MS's buffets makes
my mouth water.
That's it!
"Sounds delightful!!!"
As I remember it, it was.
I hope you have the opportunity to eat there.
If you do, let me know how it is, please.
Now, I'm really outta here!
See you later. Thanks again for the information and best wishes.
Mississippi is just one of the places many people, like myself, go to get away from "people " like you Rangel, you Marxist pig.
