Anybody who paid attention knew what he stood for; the one thing most people didn't realize was that he is a man who DOES what he says.
The problems a lot of people around here have with him is that project what THEY want onto him, even when he never made statements indicating he'd agree with every thought that passes through an "real" conservatives mind.
The most important thing he had was his integrity.
Absolutely. And he still has it.
The Dems have hammered on that public perception for six years. Finally it stuck. I cannot remember very many Republicans coming forward to defend his honor. He was too much of a (whatever) to do it himself. Shame on the Republicans on TV, the Republicans in Congress. They basically have stood by for six years while a good man was dragged through the mud.
Amen.
And you and I both know that the people here trashing Bush this week never supported him in the first place; most of them are Patsies and moles from StormFront trying to take control of this party because they've never been able to elect a dog catcher; and they're mad at US because we won't march in lockstep with them.
And what does TPTP mean???
Too pi$$ed to post.
They are crawling out of the woodwork this week and infiltrating every thread. It's gang mentality.
Howlin, you and onyx have known me for a while. And you know I'm not a troll.
I'm not abandoning the President, certainly not in terms of our troops. But ~politically~ it is increasingly hard to stand with him.
We lost a bitterly contested race here in Virginia. And perhaps I'm just too tired and too close to it still to view things objectively.
It's a mixed bag, because I've also been one of the ones saying that Allen should go ahead and concede.
But in the past 24 hours it feels as though the President has kicked us in the gut.
Maybe he has a plan. Maybe he knows what he's doing.
I just think his timing sux.
