The comments on this and other threads do not in general constitute "a discussion". It's very similar to what we hear and read from Hollywood, the media and the Dems about President Bush. Childish insults get us nowhere. And I do believe he is doing his best, against all odds. Imagine dealing with the type of media he has faced...every day. And the threats of 9-11, terrorists, Katrina, the recession he inherited, a Congress that will not cooperate or do much of anything, etc. I do not know how he has done it and kept his sanity and his resolve. But he has.
I disagree. Most of what I've seen have been good discussion, although as always there are childish rants thrown into the mix.

Well, first of all, he's the President of the United States. The things you cited are all part of the job description, so I don't give him extra credit for simply doing what is supposed to be done.
His results on foreign policy depend upon the viewer. In a sense we probably lost our majorities because of the war in Iraq. Each person will have to decide whether that was a tradeoff that needed to be made to win the WOT, or whether in retrospect it was a mistake. I won't pass judgment on that either way in this thread.
On the domestic side, I blame the entire party for their corrupt practices and ridiculous spending. Bush gets a share because he's a party member, but the blame falls evenly on all the GOP leadership.
Those posters are part of the problem and not the solution.
