Lighten up, Francis!

I will not lighten up. This time is a very important one for those of us who actually care about the next two years and beyond, to tighten up our helmets and stand behind the President. He has been dealt a hard blow and the liberals are all piling on. We don't need to add to his burdens.

The Democrats are going to overshoot on what they have been given, count on it. The people of this country do not want to cut and run, they do not want higher taxes, they do not want to give citizenship to all illegals, they do not want gay marriage shoved at them. The Dem leadership is going to try to make these things happen.

It will be two years until we can choose a new President, and it is the height of stupidity to think that we are going to help our cause by tearing down Pres. Bush and strengthening the position of the liberals.

Don't sweat these clowns Rob. They know how to do nothing but bitch. Bitching is what they do best so let them do it here. It keeps them from screwing things up elsewhere.

"He has been dealt a hard blow"

Correction: A self inflicted wound, imho

Now is the time for us all to unite and prepare for this battle on Cap Hill.....this is a new battle to be fought for 2yrs and we won't win it if we keep up the infighting.....everyone get a grip and start fighting off the rats!

As usual, I voted straight ticket on Tuesday. I have stood shoulder-to-shoulder with this president, even in tough times (Harriet Miers). I will continue to stand with my brother, the President, but it has been a hard couple of days and, over the top posts notwithstanding, we are all just venting a bit.

In fact, if people are looking for the REAL culprits it is the minions in Congress who betrayed us!! The gang of 14! Denny Hastert practically pardoning William Jefferson. No leadership. Nothing done. Bridges to nowhere!!

Exactly.

Not only is Bush trying to appropriately rally the nation for our troops, he is also shrewdly throwing the RATS enough rope to hang themselves. As we did with Clinton and the Democratic congress in 1993, we raise expectations on them higher and higher. They now have the power and responsibility compounded by zero mandate and zero latitude in getting anything accomplished in either chamber.

It is even more stupid that those of us, who donate and help to keep FR afloat have to read this DU crap on basically every thread posted on Free Republic by the losers in life.

At yesterday's press conference, the Pres. left our cause. Yes, I would love to rally around our Pres., but how can I when he is rallying around Nancy Pelosi . . . and there is a way to congratulate and publicly say "we will work together" and yet not abandon the people who sent you to your office - but the Pres. did exactly that y'day.
