Ahh, the old "I'm taking my ball and going home" approach to national politics. Clearly (and I don't mean this with any real enmity) you wouldn't have the intestinal fortitude to ever become prez. Not a big surprise, though, only a very few do.
The troops have been stabbed in the back for the second time in one generation by the American public.
I dare call it treason.
"Not a big surprise, though, only a very few do."
Bush in his press conference mentioned how he had been in many political rodeos. You dust youreself off and get back on (or words to that effect). Reminded me of Nixon's book "In the Arena", the title came from something Teddy Roosevelt had said I believe.
One thing I was mad about was Rummy's "resignation" and why do that now instead of earlier. Bush was asked that guestion and got pretty pissed. Said how he was not going to announce his decision so late in the campaign as it would send the wrong signal to the troops as it would make it look like he was using the military for political purposes. I have to agree - and like the way Bush thinks (more than my knee-jerk responses!).
