IMO YO is wrong. Bush and the RNC lost this election...not the voters. Most of us are smart enought to see through the liberal press (even FOXs disguise) but some don't seem smart enough to see the errors Bush has made that lost the independent vote. If all Rats and all Pubbies voted their party we would still need the independents to win. I went straight for the ticket out of self defense but I fully understand why some could not overcome the gag reflex. We better focus on tomorrow, today is lost. God help us all if the Hildebeast gets elected in '08.

I have a little different take on why the election was lost. Involves BJC, Dem media together. They planned and assessed carefully. Ran "clone" candidates in the various races. These clones espoused the same message as the incumbants, pro life, for closing borders, new direction for the war but no pull-out, etc. This with the continual drone from the media and polls telling the electorate where to put their "x" worked. Brilliant scheme really.

JD Hayworth in AZ complained a while back that his opponent was "copying" him, running on the exact same issues. Poor JD never knew what was coming.

It hasn't got anything to do with being smart IMO. It's trusting the wrong people. I know people, I have family that believe everything they hear on "the news" The media, campaigned hard and they won last night.
