I think you're already seeing the policy put in place regarding Israel. This is why through the election we've made a palestinian state a cornerstone of American foreign policy, decried the occupation, commended Hamas for being in the government rather than on the streets, doubled aid to the mid $400 million range, are arming Fatah, and pressuring Israel to allow PLO terrorists, the Bader Brigade who fought against us in the first Gulf war, to return to Gaza from Jordan. We're planning on rearming them too.
Iraq comes next. Word is an anouncement will be made withing the week. Speculation is that we'll begin a phased withdrawl, as well as entering into dialogue with Syria and Iran about Iraqs future. As I noted earlier, this should have been anounced prior to the election. Republican voters have a right to know, and it might have drawn some votes from the Dems. And yes, the Saudi's will be pleased.
It would be an interesting experiment to initiate right this moment.
Try to think like a Saudi and draw up what the Saudis would like to see happen vis a vis overall US Mideast policy in the next two years.
Compare to actual Bush policy in the next two years.
And then wonder in 2008 why (F the) Jews, don't vote Republican.
