Bush just said Rumsfeld was here to stay last week. That was dumb.
To: Brilliant
Rumsfeld needs to write his memoires.
I hope he doesn't hold back in any way.

wiki has him appointed and confirmed already! Yeah, that was pretty fast, even for the Internet. OTOH, maybe now we know what Algore's been doing for the past few hours - we haven't heard from him since the election results came out.

Gates is said to be highly political. Lots of folks accused him of "politicizing intelligence".
His confirmation involved lots of mud-slinging. It went on for weeks and weeks.

Formerly of the CIA? That's a recipe for trouble. It was the CIA's "slam-dunk" assessment that encouraged W to confidently cruise along with the Iraq war.

OK Pick but not really a change agent.

Ya, It will suck to lose him. But God, Country, family dictates he has to take it.

Anyone who doesn't adhere to the Dem talking points is "political" in their minds.

Sounds like a good choice. I'm sorry Rumsfeld had to go, though. I think he's a great man.

Rumsfeld probably had the highest IQ of any official in any administration!
I love his quick wit.
