You people seem to think the Democrats are suddenly going to do everything up to rewriting the Constitution.
No..I don't believe that. I do believe they'll hold out for judges who will rewrite it for them. I believe they are not for this country having VICTORY or Winning the way Jack Bauer wins.
I wish that people would calm down. Lots of gloom and doom. I understand why Rumsfeld is leaving, and it isn't "caving." People are now turning on Bush, like all of this is his fault.
I am ashamed to see so many people who do not understand the concept of loyalty.
"You people seem to think the Democrats are suddenly going to do everything up to rewriting the Constitution."
Exactly! Geez, I've seen the border-bots (aka paleocons) blamed, the neo-cons blamed, the evangelicals blamed, the libertarians blamed, and a cubic pantsload of sky-is-falling is heard from all quarters.
Please. We lost (IMO *because* we are fragmented, among a few other reasons) and in two years we have another chance to win with a fresh approach.
In the meantime Rummy is gone. I'm of mixed feelings about this. I salute Mr. Rumsfeld for a job well done but at the same time we cannot say that his direction has managed to quash the terrorist/insurgent effort in Iraq.
I can't decide either if the President ought to have made an announcement earlier. On the one hand I think many voters voted for Dims on the grounds that they were unhappy with the percieved situation over in Iraq and were being told that W was going to keep going on the present course - those people might have been moved by a change! On the other hand, lefty vitriol about Rummy is so strong that the MSM etc would have trumpeted about W 'recognizing failure' or some other BS.
Not happy about the new guy. I haven't done research on him but the short bios posted here make him sound like a Bush41 buddy ... and frankly I am not too impressed by Bush Sr.'s track record in the Middle East.
