Subtle gong alert, scrolled on the bottom of the screen.
You heard it right. Don't know the context.
please end this now.. where's Rove?? Where's Snow??
I think we lied to ourselves. Even though the signs have been there all along, we hoped and hoped we could have TR for president again.
But honestly, although I am cubicle-bound and working my ass off, this President sounds worse than any Democrat I've ever seen.
Maybe this will be my last post ever.
Wrong. Keep it going.
I believe they are framing the election as entirely about Iraq.
This is, in my opinion, a great move if they pull it off, because it undercuts any thought that the democrats have a mandate for anything they want to do.
You know Bush won't abandon the guys in Iraq, even though Rumsfeld is gone. By doing this now, it's the new story, NOT the democrats winning. The democrats probably can't take credit for it, because he hasn't talked to them yet, and he's said he was working this last week.
So this is all about putting Bush back in charge of the story, for putting Iraq front and center, for Bush framing the debate as success in Iraq, that the democrats have to stop using the war as a political tool, and actually step up and take their responsibility seriously to win the war.
I don't know if he'll succeed, but holding out for a few months wasn't going to help things any.
I don't know how we can be happy, we lost the election. I know Rush believes the democrats don't care about the country, and maybe they don't, but Bush saying they do helps set up the idea that they should, and that they better, or else.
If the Republicans held the Senate and House (or even if the House evenly split) he would have kept Rumsfeld. This is just a political move and it's transparent to his base.
I hope Rush considers a 4th hour today.
Well, when you throw Rummy overboard and then defend Nancy Pelosi's allegiance to this country and our troops...it's hard to stay on.
I think he just got a big dose of reality.
"End this effing press confrence!"
Good God yes. Get the hook!
I almost don't want to go in the other room to watch. It sounds like a boxing match where you're waiting for the ref to stop it before something really bad happens...
that's what I heard loud & clear - I really have been trying to avoid all the BS today but this is just TOO much for me
I completely agree...I don't know why everyone in here is so negative. Look...you deal with the circumstances that you can't change. The dems took a ton of seats in both houses...he can't just pack it in or stick his head in the sand. He has never been a greater man than he is today.
Rove is in the audience there. I didn't see Snow but would imagine he's there somewhere.
I'm going to stock up on some high capacity clips and other items before Pelosi and company start solidifying their brand of government.
Too late.
No doubt. But why say days ago that you won't accept his resignation only to accept it today?
Bush said he hasn't talked to pelosi yet, at least I think he said that.
God is with us, and God is with your son. Be strong and courageous, and do not be afraid!
Best line of the day...100% agreed!
