At least he didn't lie to the reporters. Okay Charles, I'll talk to you. Cause I sense sarcasm here.
Remember that I did state that he handled admitting he lied quite awkwardly. It seemed prolonged, almost daring us to fill in the silent space.
Everyone KNOWS they LIE to Reporters. But...
Ah well. I agree on your cautious appraisal of matters right now.
I still feel something mighty wrong with this whole thing but I gotta go find my wits.

President Bush is a politician. He knows politics is business. He doesn't take things personally. He is a BIG man.

I'm in shock everybody... what the hell is going on today?
To: redgolum
Gosh. He just called all the Republicans who lost dishonest.
WTF? Did I wake up on bizzaro world today? No. Many of the seatslost were to corruption issues. Going all the way back to Duke Cunningahm, Ney,Foley, and so on....at least 7.

I wouldn't be either. Now he's talking about the carnage on TV? Where the hell is the positive stuff he's been spouting for the past two years? This is incredible.

"Maybe we'll be less PC in how we fight now? That would be good."
I just don't see how that washes out of all this.

Rummy deserves a better salute than that. Somehow I expect that there will a few spontaneous straight back salutes given every time he comes within sight of a service member - active or retired.
Even Patton and MacArthur got handed their helmets - but they still are revered by those that knew them best.

At least the MSM is carrying something Bush has to say on all channels for a change.

He just made a salient point: It was a close election, but the cumulative effect was a 'thumping."
Putting the thumping aside for a moment, one thing we need to always remember is that the country is still narrowly divided.

Where the hell is the positive stuff he's been spouting for the past two years?Apparently, the majority of voters didn't believe him.

Bush is human too and I'm sure he's doing the best he can with what he's being given.

I'm sorry but I disagree with you vehemently. He is working under extrordinary conditions. I think he is very hurt and is trying to cover it up. Our President cries easily.

Rumsfeld has been trying to resign for at least a couple years. Maybe Rumsfeld wanted out. That's what I think.

They cannot put themselves in a position where they are blamed for terror attacks, losing the war, etc. Just watch. Remember DJIA 12,000 and 4.4% unemployment. Anyway, they didn't put themselves in this position, the voting public did.

It's like something much more than just the elections has him rattled to the core. Yeah. Something caused this. I wonder what he and Pelosi really talked about.

What's going on is that the President is in shock, he's only lost once in his life and he's digging this hole by capitulating to his enemies rather then finally taking off the gloves and dumping the new tone.
