Republicans have squandered their position,power, money and good will by allowing those of non ideological conservative soundness as the face and soul of the party and it's sailing master; choosing the direction the party was to go. The conservative base was shunned and the condensed syrup of ideas allow to melt away into the greater blend of wishy washy efforts.

Clear strong issues were shunted aside by ideological and morally weak people who very prescense in the Republican party had not been vetted for basic honesty and clarity, no less moral strength. No saints are readily available to be sure, but the collection of simple thieves, poofters, footpads and blackguards fielded was shameful.

Now a full purge is needed and the selection of "clean" candidates sound in mind, body and thought is needed, with each and every one undergoing an inquiry that will make opposition research prior to election day an afterthought.

Our politicians need to be in the mold of Ceasar's Wife.
Each vetted completely so that the mere phrase Republican Candidate must hold the connotation of total honesty and uprightness.
