I know the Democrats wouldn't be crazy enough to watch the price of oil zoom past US$90/barrel if Iran does invade Iraq after we leave--it would be economic suicide for them.

I think you are waaaaay too generously shortsighted, it will be "sucicide" for ALL of us! They don't want to drill Anwar, but they don't want to defend our foreign oil supply? You figure it out. Any way you choose to look at it, its not a pretty picture.
