I think, probably, Rumsfeld is going to have to go, now. He's become a liability. He's a great man, but his effectiveness is gone.
Bring in Lieberman. Especailly now. Gov. Rell can appoint his replacement.
Why does Rumsfeld have to go? And why would Lieberman want it after just winning reelection?
I don't think Rum should go because the rats won. Eff 'em. I'm sick of the GOP caving in and kowtowing to the rats.
Rummy must stay and finish the restructuring the military. Anybody else will "become" a "liability" as soon as he becomes SecDef, Dems/media will see to that. Rummy can handle them best, that's why they want him out. Spineless Republicans who don't like confrontations with Dems/media are always ready to throw someone overboard as sacrificial lamb - never works, except getting them some face time on TV.
