Exactly ... although I think they were always a miniscule group.

We may find out differently, but I don't think the base stayed home. I think the Iraq war, and particularly the MSM coverage of that war, turned the mush-headed sheeple toward the Dems.

I voted. Bush, however, has been a hard pill to swallow for everything but tax policy and war policy. The Republicans never excercised majority power in congress and left too many opportunities on the table. Poor leadership in both chambers-- weak, too weak.

It was a nice run, but there will be a few years in the wilderness. We do need a strong principled presidential candidate.

I for one am looking forward to watching the Dem's try to run the legislative body. Sadly, Bush will kiss their A's and go along, though.
