Unfortunately, I don't think some Republicans willing to learn the lesson. And they're the ones running the party.

I have to wonder whether there was an effort to help certain Republicans lose, given the comments coming out of the White House tonight regarding border security. That was very dissappointing to hear.

I had the same thought. They seem quite happy about the newfound opportunity for "comprehensive immigration reform", as if the Dems will be so much more sensible than the Neanderthal Republicans were.

The whole thing is making me figuratively ill.

It would be nice to be able to jump ahead 25 years and hear what people are saying about the decisions made tonight. But alas, we don't have it that easy. We have to live through the debacle and weather it the best we can.
