I'm watching these returns come in and I am absolutely stunned. I am one of those who believed that we would keep both House and Senate this year, as assured by Karl Rove.

I cannot believe that with all of our GOTV prowess that we are getting hammered the way we are tonight. Can it be that these projections are not going to win out when all the votes are counted?

How could Rove/Mehlman have been so wrong on this outcome?

I am watching FNC talk about Pelosi, Rangel, Hastings, Conyers and Waxman taking over House leadership positions and am fighting the urge to vomit my guts out.

I'm hoping that in the early morning hours the tide is going to turn in our favor, but maybe it's not meant to be this year. I was convinced that the American people would not turn their backs on the GOP in the midst of all of this prosperity. Guess I was wrong.

Hey don't sweat it so much. The Rats don't have the ability to do anything but propaganda. And you know with them it's going to be over the top.

2 of 3 and we are in charge. God bless these United States.

Prayer for our leadership. :)

The only answer is that they based their optimism on turnout numbers--and that large numbers of normally Republican voters who turned out voted for the Democrats. Depressing.

The plan is we keep the Senate (for the judges ya know) and sacrifice the House. Hopfully the Rats will do all sorts of stupid things in the next two years. So then whomever we run for President will win and we'll also take back the house!)

Got it? RYMB!!!!!!! SHHHH!

I know I will get flamed but...
Has it ever occurred to you that maybe this is exactly what Bush and Rove want?

Considering the circles that Bush famly runs around with (Clinton and friends)it wouldn't surprise me.

Do you receive the RNC email bulletins? One of them a couple of months ago was a warning from Mehlman that Democrats taking over Congress would result in gas prices rising.

This was when gas prices were around 3.29 here, over twice what they were in 2000.

That's the genius that is Mehlman.

There are various reasons, but the biggest in my estimation is the absolute lack of leadership from our congressional Republicans. Hastert taking sides with the thief from New Orleans, spineless leadership from the Senate, trying to outdem the dems - really just a complete lack of guts. That, and fence-sitters.
