WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Democrat Sheldon Whitehouse defeated Republican incumbent Sen. Lincoln Chafee (news, bio, voting record) in Rhode Island on Tuesday, giving Democrats a key win in their effort to take over control of the Senate.
Television networks CNN and Fox projected that former state Attorney General Whitehouse beat Chafee, a member of a prominent Rhode Island political family and probably the most liberal Republican in the Senate.
I can't believe they let Harry Reid out of his cage.
We haven't seen him, Dean, or Pelosi for weeks and suddenly they are all appearing on TV to gloat and smile.
I suppose they deserve it after what they are pulling off....God I hate them.
