When all is said and done, I think we will learn that it was not the moderate Republicans that sunk us, but rather the independents.

Agreed. If we're looking for scapegoats, I don't think Free Republic is the place to look ... either the GOP "bashers" or GOP "bots".

We can argue on here all night, but I'll bet 95 per cent of us pulled the lever for Republicans today.

We should save our anger for the traitorous national media and the coddled, brain dead American public.

"We should save our anger for ... the coddled, brain dead American public."

Well, that's a good way to end up a permanent minority.

The public are not brain dead.
The Republicans did not keep their support.

Republicans have to figure out why.
If just the "broken glass" Republican consevatives, the diehards, come out to vote, you've got a permanent, smallish, rump.

Screaming epithets at the people who elect you is a bad way to get elected.

The fault does not lie with the People. The fault lies in decisions taken by the leadership.
