This is absurd logic. Unless you give something for moderates to hold onto, they won't give you their support.

Gang of Fourteen.

Amnesty in the Senate and almost in the House.

High Spending.

McCain's constant attempts to sabotage the WOT by restricting what we can do.

CFR.

No ANWR.

Do I really need to continue? They damn well were catered to, and the net result is that they jumped ship. Meanwhile the Dems ran as conservatives to some success. Quite telling. It tells me my opinion that people like McCain are poisen to the GOP is correct.

And the saddest part of that is McCain is doing all this to blow off the Conservative base and still win the election in '08.

I agree with you 100%. Moderate Republicans are poisonous to conservatism and a death sentence to an effective political machine. If RATs pretend to be conservative, then that's all one needs to know.

And none of these are moderate turning points. They are conservative turning points. You just don't get it.
