How do they call things that are only 30% or so? I don't get that??
I have never understood that.
By using (notoriously unreliable) exit polling.
They use the vote in key precincts that supposedly reflect how the vote over the state will work.
It doesn't always work, particularly if the elections are close, but they have it down to a pretty fine art now.
