Please Mods can we have one central Live thread ...its tough jumping from thread to thread to get results.
That's not a definition of 'base' I'm not familiar with.
That's not a definition of 'base' I'm familiar with. Better.
I've always thought that Allen was a dork but man not that big of a dork. We really need that seat. I'm shocked that Talent lost. Some districts in VA haven't been counted and some mail in ballots.
I guess Allen can forget 2008. I never understood all the hung ho stuff around here about him.
In that way a Democrat majority is a problem that solves itself! Overpopulation too!
oh yep... good point...
FGS. Are you dense or just playing dense?
We have a two party system. We are at war. The other side truly hates our President Bush and you have the audacity to question party loyalty.
Furthermore, I am a thinking and thoughtful voter. The stay at home or teach the GOP a lesson folks are no better than the democrats they helped to elect.
I was stunned to see her reaction. She & Tim McGraw used to have downhome, all-American appeal, til they got political after Katrina.

As Democrats are fond of pointing out - No Child Left Behind was passed, but never really funded. Education spending is up by something like $15 Billion in six years.
And $20 Billion for AIDS? Well, I doubt if it was ever actually appropriated or spent.
But, in any case: the damned Federal Budget is about $3 Trillion a year. $20 Billion over, what, four years?
And "real conservatives" or "true conservatives" might well like to see actual cuts in spending but, let's be frank - the class of 1994 never made real cuts in those key budgets (education and health) and, if you read down the discretionary lists, there's not much to cut (in real dollar numbers) elsewhere.
The only areas in the Federal Budget where there are substantive savings to be found, probably, are Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security.
And, of course, all of the "true conservatives" have just played their part in dooming any effort there. I mean, even if (when?) we win a majority in Congress back in 2008, do you think that any future President (of either party) will be willing to make the effort that Bush made on the issue?
Staying at home or voting for a 3rd party is not helping to elect the democrats. Actually voting for a democrat is the only thing that helps elect them.
So basically, we're looking at a 4,000 vote lead for the RAT, which should be whittled down to 2,000 lead ex Yellowstone County.
Burns took Yellowstone by 2,600 votes six years ago, but is sagging by a point or two elsewhere. Seems like it's going to be excruciatingly close.
Watch Burns pull it off because of Yellowstone County and the RATS make a huge to do about the recount there.
When did Pelosi say that?
I am also shocked that Talent lost. I'm not as surprised about Allen. Virginia seems to be becoming a much tougher state for Republicans. It reminds me of Florida. Strong GOPers can still win handily there, but not the weaker candidates.
And you think with a Dem house that you're gonna get spending cuts?
What a totally stupid post. You could not be more wrong.
You were talking about the party, or have you already forgotten?
Pretty much.
Looking at the numbers, it wouldn't shock me if the Montana election came down to a couple of hundred votes one way or another.
Man, I wish we'd spent more money there, instead of dumping it into the sinkhole that is New Jersey. That was a dumb move.
Let us be clear here I want them to stay and finish the Job, but starting Tomorrow the MSM will call this election a referendum on the failed War in Iraq, and they will not let up.
And I fear we can not break through that relentless assault.
I have thought on the matter for days and I just do not see us beating back the MSM on this.
And I hate such thoughts with a passion because I know a Now Free Nation will get torn apart.
And I think there is not a thing we can do but watch in horror as it happens.
Actually that is not what happened; Republicans voted in record numbers.
The haters just were just out in full force.
FoxNews showing 51-48 with 98 or 99% reporting for Corker in TN.
Allen lost because of Allen.
