I'm in agreement with your scenario,,,
Except on Bush. They will trash him until the chickens come home to roost and prove he was on the right road.

That's why we keep guns. They can try to take them, but only "from my cold, dead fingers."

(We have two political parties: the American Party and the Anti-American Party.)
To: Mo1
Let's look at the (only) bright side. If the Dems get both houses, THEY will be on the defensive. If they want to defund the WOT, let them explain why. If taxes rise, let them explain that in two years. When the Markets tank, gas prices rise (because of ME fears), and jobs are lost when more companies go offshore (because of more over-taxation and regulation) let them defend all of this!
How many times have FReepers groaned, "What good is having the majority when the Dems block us time and again?" I know that the MSM won't call them on all these things, but that will only demonstrate their complicity (and duplicity).
To: Yaelle
If it comes down to whether a complete Dem majority pulls our troops out of Iraq, it would not surprise me at all to see Lieberman switch. He has been unwaivering in his support of Iraq and the WOT. Look for the WH to lobby him hard.

She also has the media behind her... A media that NEVER challenges her... To the FReepers that think she has no chance, GET A GRIP, GET A DOSE OF REALITY

You and some others are blaming conservatives for this blowout. Wrong.
It is due to the leftist MSM nonstop propaganda fed to the masses. And politicians who pander to the media and have no balls.
To: Right_in_Virginia
McConnell will most likely be the Leader. He is actually one feisty dude. Infinitely better than Lott.
To: cherry
things were worse back in the 90's believe me.....much worse.....Oh, I know. I've been voting since 1976... ;-)
I'm just saddened to see so many GOP and conservative gains lost. And very saddened to see good and decent candidates lose to liberal poseurs (ie Santorum losing to Casey).

The "unappeasables" would say that they do not vote for liberals, no matter the letter behind their names. At least that's what my sis keeps telling me when we discuss Rudy
Rudy's stock just split and doubled.

CLASSY CLASSY JUST A WONDERFUL SPEECH BY MCGAVICK IN WA!! I missed it. Did we also vote to keep death taxes, and all those other goodies?
To: Arizona Carolyn
I tell you the egotistical talking heads have got to accept their share of responsibility for this day.
America loses, but they had the spotlight, didn't they? How PROUD they must all be tonight.

(If my people which are called by my name will humble themselves and pray......)
To: rintense
I'm going to pray for the people of Iraq as well. They are screwed and the door is open for Iran to have a field day there. It is not just the people in Iraq who are screwed.
This election is a major victory for Islamofascism. The entire dem "platform" is built around cut and run, followed by appeasement.
Just as in World War II, appeasement will lead to a much bigger war later. Historians of the future will look at this election as a watershed moment in history.

They're not going to impeach Bush...on what charge would they impeach him? Give me a break. It will be at least two years of gridlock.

Which is USELESS! Lots of barking from the backbenchers, but NO power.
When are you political naifs going to learn some facts, damn it!
To: Arizona Carolyn
I don't think Chaffee voted for Alito, don't know about Roberts.
Dewine votedfor both Roberts and Alito, actually people complained about Dewine, but he got most ofthe big votes correct.

Allen's Done [John Podhoretz]
MSNBC reports that there are 33,000 uncounted ballots in Fairfax County, which will presumably break for Webb.
To: sissyjane
You are a dreamer....We lost what you do not understand. Hell, I'm not a dreamer. I'm a realist.
We either get up and continue our fight, or lay down our arms and turn the country over to the Dimms for the next 50 years.
I choose to fight. And, I offer no apology if my choice doesn't fit your defeatism and surrender.
To: BurbankKarl
Fox said that not all the votes were counted in Loudon County, a conservative stronghold. Is this true or false?
