He can't do that and posting that, makes you look silly.
We're all angry and upset, but you need to think before you hit the post button. And that goes for all of us.

The coordinator for the GOTV that I've been talking to every night at the phone banks has been telling me for the last two weeks that the GOP was going to lose, and lose big.
She said the base was dispirited, not showing up and traditional allies like RTL weren't showing up to call or walk precincts.
I didn't believe her, because we had so many of the goofy "Rove, you magnificent bastard" posts here, but she was telling me what she was hearing in DC, and evidently it was right on.
I wonder how long the GOP leaders have known we were in for a shellacing?

["You force freedom on the maniacs by delivering it to the good people all around them."]
[[When has that ever worked?]]
It worked in Europe and in Japan after WWII under the Marshall plan.
[" You saw the pictures of the purple fingers. If you think the majority of Iraqi's don't want freedom you are sadly mistaken."]
[[Freedom to do WHAT? "Democracy" is only head-counting.]]
Freedom of self determination and the ability to buy and sell in a free market economy. The people of Iraq and Afghanistan (in the heart of former Jihadist country) are experiencing it more and more every day and if they can get used to it for even a few years, they'll never give it up to go back to living in dirt houses without electricity and running water and selling camel dung for a living.

I think we are going to find out in the aftermath of this debacle that many Republicans stayed home.
Does it make sense? No. But, you can't run campaigns on the assumption that voters are completely rational.

It was a really odd feeling seeing the unions in the tank for Weldon here. I have a "Labor for Weldon" sign and all week I've caught myself staring at it like it came from Mars or something.

The problem is that younger folks don't think this stuff really matters that much. They don't want to join the team . . . either team. They see it as all the same . . . WORTHLESS and MEANINGLESS to them and their lives.

I cannot believe that with all of our GOTV prowess that we are getting hammered the way we are tonight. Can it be that these projections are not going to win out when all the votes are counted? How could Rove/Mehlman have been so wrong on this outcome? The only answer is that they based their optimism on turnout numbers--and that large numbers of normally Republican voters who turned out voted for the Democrats. Depressing.

Folks, it all boils down to this: Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.
Life - Unashamedly Pro-Life, protection of the innocent unborn. We value and cherish human life. If we don't, we are doomed as a society.
Liberty - We dare defend ourselves against tyranny, fascism and terrorism. We a free people and we WILL defend this country and her interests.
Pursuit of Happiness - We believe that government doesn't run our lives, we run our lives. We work, we invest, we build for our own future and our children's futures. Government should defend and honor those ambitions, not regulate and tax them.
We, as conservatives, must go back to the core, root principles and build from there. Start it now: The motto for the next "Contract with America"....
LIFE, LIBERTY, AND THE PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS

Rat senators elected, if they take the senate, will indeed walk in lockstep with the left. Supposedly conservatives rats in the House will be a little more independent, but they will get hammered by Pelosi and the others until they're beaten down. Since rats don't have much in the way of principles anyway, they won't worry about it until it's time to run again.

You know someone said this here earlier that a democratic congress benefited the president becasue of amnesty that he wants for these illegal skanks. Ok so what did tony snow just say. He just said this presents an interesting opporunity for the president to get his immigration reform that the house was stopping. Frankly only the HOUSE stood up for the rule of law and the constitustion and didn't pander. So if this is the case...that's a bombshell
