WOAG,

IT may be the judges, but ya think Chaffee will actually be grateful and vote for 1 or 2 (the Supremes) if GWB gets to nominate them?

I think not, Chaffee comes across as a snaughtly nosed brat and not a team player.

The question is who gets Senate Majority Leader, that is the million dollar question, especially after how left out we felt the last couple of years with Hastert/Frist.

What you say is true BUT ...
Chaffee is a vote *against* filibuster, any lib Dem is a vote *for* filibuster. Key point.

PLUS ... the Senate hangs in the balance, if a Chaffee loss means that Schumer, Leahy and Kennedy run the judicial nominations process, is that a tolerable thing?

"The question is who gets Senate Majority Leader"

If we dont win enought seats, that would be Harry Reid.

If we do, the front-runner is Mitch McConnell. Good guy.

He might not vote for them, but he won't fillibuster them... Whitehouse definitely will. I hate Chafee as much as the next honest conservative, but if I was in RI, I wouldn't hesitate to pull the lever for him.
