I was watching Dan Rather on Fox N Friends this morning and even he got it right. He said this Saddam verdict and the good economic news will probably help the GOP.

Matthews was shaken and ashen when he announced his commentary -- he knows damn full well that this does not help the RATS and he is unnerved.
The only way it could be better is if they drug him from the court room and hung him right away.
The judge has more patience than I do. I would have packed a .45 under my robe and capped him as soon as the verdict was read.

... no violence today so far, think the terrorist planners are going to wait until the alerts subside, which won't be for several days ... good news for republicans, 80% probability no organized violence before tuesday's elections
... dem leadership unanimously stated this morning that (a) the Saddam verdict was correct and appropriate (b) ... the process was just ... and in the same breath (c) .. "we must get out of Iraq, the chaos is horrible !!!" .... dem's position will be seen as very weak to the voting public, will significantly impact Senate and House races ..
... before this morning I would have put the 'pubs chances of retaining a House majority at less than 5%, now, with (1),(3) and (5) above, I'd say 20% or better ...
