It would only be appropriate if they do a public hanging and play Handel's timeless song, "Hallelujah"....
It would be funnier to play the song they seem to be playing on talk radio these days behind soundbites of Kerry's non-apology---Brenda Lee's "I'M SORRY" from the 50s/
But there are THIRTEEN more trials, and Saddam will probably never hang, and they know it. The trials are for the world to see. More would be accomplished by keeping him alive, as I suggested elsewhere. His supporters could be bribed to keep him alive, or kill him, their choice.
I don't know how importantly Saddam himself figures into their visions for an Islamic Iraq, maybe not at all, but his own Sunnis would certainly at least symbolically desire to keep him around, rather than see him swinging.
THe Sunnis directly could be given the choice: Renounce all terrorism inside Iraq, or watch us dispense with the other 13 trials, and HANG HIM NOW IN FRONT OF YOU. Be good boys and he lives, he could even be your leader in one section of a specially designed Iraq (It will happen, I think)
