Males should just be very, very careful doing their #1 business when visiting family or friends.
The genitalia of many males comes into contact with the "round" seats on toilets when maneuvering into the fully-seated position. This is specifically why public toilets have a "cutout" on the front to avoid this unhygienic situation. Visiting males should feel free to stand when at the homes of friends or family...they should just be very gentle with their urinary thrust and careful with aim. A deftly angled bankshot on the porcelain results in reduced splashing. A gracious host should place a can of Lysol in an obvious place to allow for sterilization by houseguests.
