"Senator Levin, for example, would become chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee. He has called for a phased withdrawal of U.S. troops from Iraq beginning next month. It is a plan, he told reporters in a conference call,"

The plan. Get out as soon as we can.

To hell with the people and gov't left behind.

One of my sons is being deployed in January. The worst possible thing that could happen is the DemoRats regain control and strand his unit over there without any support.

I did not know that Congress has the power to change foreign policy, how stupid these people are. First they are not going to win neither the House or the Senate. Second, let us suppose they win the House (Huge If) they will have a small majoirty and at least 30 to 40 democrats from red states will refuse to cut any funding to the troops so they cannot even pass such a bill in the House, not to take in consideration the most important fact that President Bush can and will easily veto any bill that cut funding for the war.

Is he saying "to hell with the American people" as well. The enemy will be arriving at our door again like on 9/11 if we crawl home in defeat. These Liberals are pathetic cowards!

More proof that Democrats hate the constitution, given that under it U.S. foreign policy is explicitly and exclusively the responsibility of the executive branch.

Bush can veto a cut in existing funding, but a democrat congress can pass bills that don't provide anymore. This is exactly what they did to Vietnam.

...where they will agree that Prime Minister al Maliki is doing a bad job in Iraq right now.

What would a good job look like?

Victory undefined leads to the perception of defeat, and defeatism. Ask them to define victory, and you will see how far out of touch they are with reality.

Have you heard about emergency fundings? The President can divert any part of the government money to fund the troops. In Vietnam they had a super majority so they were able to overcome a President veto. As I said at least 30 or 40 democrats from the conservative districts will join Republicans in bill to fund the troops and they will not join democrats in bill to cut funds for the war.

Again, I am not worried because we will keep both the House and the Senate.

"Come On Enjoy, We Surrender, come over and chop our heads off, we do'nt care!"

If the Dems somehow cut funding for our mission in Iraq, then we'll just have to use some very cost-effective methods to fight the terrorists there. Like lots of big bombs. I'm serious, that's what Bush would do. He's not going to let the Islamo-terrorists win there.

Oh and also my son is a college graduate who enlisted after graduation. Pretty much reduces Shanghi John Kerry's comments about our military to a joke on John.

You're right, but the next attack will make 9/11 look insignificant in comparison. On 9/11, three planes struck three buildings. (No, I'm not forgetting those brave souls on Flight 93.) Imagine what three or four US cities disappearing in a flash of white light would be like.

That's what's at stake next week.
