I was very young when he died and not much remains for me to sift through.

The military kept meticulous records, and if you are interested, you may be able to get his personnel file.

My grandfather, whom I never knew, was an infantryman in the 2/6 City of London Rifles. I got forty pages of his records from the British governmental archives. It was fascinating.
