"I expect better than that from a fellow Gator."
Just speaking my mind.
I still think Kerry's comment was about Bush, not our soldiers.
It was a patty, stupid little insult that would have been lost in a sea of petty, stupid political insults if it we weren't making hay out of it.
My first reaction when I watched the clip was "I think he was talking about Bush." My second reaction was "Wow, they really cropped that video to make sure I didn't see anything that came before or after."
Sorry, but I still think Kerry's real meaning -- which was petty and stupid -- is being distorted into something monstrous.
And I also still think it could end up making us look bad (sort of the way Limbaugh's comments on Michael J. Fox -- dispite the fact that he immediately retracted them -- have been used to make us look bad).
Others will disagree, or call me a troll, or whatever. I just call 'em like I see 'em.
And the Gators will be national champs if they let Tebow start.

I think Kerry said exactly what he intended to say, and it was an insult to our military. I don't see how it can be interpreted as him talking about Bush.

<>You even sound like Kerry - you keep trying to twist the obvious, flat out - on tape - truth of what he said - in plain, unambiguous words that cannot be misunderstood no matter how you try to 'nuance' it...
You keep defending him - meow

John Kerry made the comment to college students that in order to be smart you had to study hard in college or you could wind up in Iraq. Just what part of that was a jab at Bush? He made the assertion that those who serve in the military in Iraq are not smart enough to stay in college, or were not smart enough to get into college. Those words were not a jab at Bush, but a direct attack at people like my son and my nephews who are either currently in Iraq (my son, my brother's son) or served a tour already (my sister's son, who is going back next summer). Kerry is an anti-american, narcissistic, egoistical, self-agrandizing, over-inflated, seditious B*st*rd who should be arrested and tried for treason. Do I sound upset?
